Black Water Tattoo and Design opened in 2015 to bring something new and fresh to the Northern Virginia tattoo scene. Since then we have dedicated ourselves to providing quality tattoos built to stand the test of time while providing a fun and welcoming experience for our clientele.

Why Does Experience Matter?

In this day in age there are so many artists and so many shops, why would you go to someone who has years of tattoo experience under their belt when they charge so much more than someone just starting out? The simple answer is quality. Quality of the tattoo and quality of the experience. Our shop has ten years of serving Loudon County under our belt, and as a result we get to see our tattoos come back year after year. This has provided priceless insight into how our tattoos age over time. We are committed to creating tattoos that stand the test of time and will resist the weathering that life throws at all of us.

    Killian has been tattooing professionally since 2012, and has tattooed at conventions all over the country. He enjoys tattooing large scale bright and bold color designs that are built to stand the test of time.

    Pete Tapang

    Pete enjoyed success as a fine artist in the late 90s, but sought other opportunities in the corporate world developing other skill sets before re discovering his passion for art. In 2021 Pete began his tattoo career where he applied previous experiences to quickly build his skill sets to become one of Northern Virginia’s best custom tattoo artists.
